With an estimated $45 million deficit looming in the 2010-2011 budget (which starts July 1), members of the Ways & Means Committee of the Board of Aldermen are being asked to make some decisions. This is inane. Cutting public services for our poor? We need to reinstate taxes that Slay cut for corporations. For example, why don’t we remove the exemption of stock options from the city earnings tax?
