Alderman French and the Sheldon Concert Hall Partner to Bring Live Music to this Historic Park
(ST. LOUIS)—Kim Massie takes the stage in O’Fallon Park this Wednesday for week two of the second annual O’Fallon Park Jazz Concert Series. The free concert begins at 6:00PM.
A well-established musical presence in the St. Louis region and beyond, Massie draws upon Blues, R&B, Jazz and Gospel to deliver powerful, crowd-pleasing performances. She will be joined on stage by the Kim Massie Band.
For the second year in a row, 21st Ward Alderman Antonio French and the Sheldon Concert Hall have partnered to produce one of the highest quality jazz-in-the-park series in the St. Louis region. The O’Fallon Park series offers a rare opportunity for northside residents to hear free performances from premiere musical acts, while enjoying an evening in the park with neighbors and friends.
“A lot of folks who had not even set foot in this park in decades are coming out and dancing until sundown,” said Alderman French.
This year’s concerts take place amidst major investment in renovation and repairs to O’Fallon Park, the second largest park in the City of St. Louis. A one-mile fitness trail recently opened, and construction will soon begin on the $22 million O’Fallon Park Recreation Center.
The Jazz Concert Series runs through August 25. All concerts begin at 6:00PM and are free and open to the public. Concessions will be available at the O’Fallon Park Boathouse; attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair.
