Band will take stage at 6:00 PM for week four of the O’Fallon Park Jazz Concert Series
(ST. LOUIS) – Tomorrow night marks the fourth performance in an 8-week Jazz Concert Series in O’Fallon Park. The concert will feature master blues guitarist Rich McDonough and his band, Rough Grooves. The group is known for its high-energy blues performances covering everything from the blues greats to original compositions. Band members have performed at blues festivals around the world and opened for legendary artists such as Chuck Berry, Joe Louis Walker, and Bo Didley.
The performance is part of the 2nd annual jazz series in O’Fallon Park produced by the Sheldon Concert Hall in partnership with 21st Ward Alderman Antonio French. The series offers residents a unique opportunity to enjoy one of the city’s largest and most beautiful parks. Concert-goers will have the opportunity to hear some of the region’s most talented jazz musicians while enjoying refreshments from the park’s new Boathouse café, which has been reopened specifically for the event.
Visitors to O’Fallon Park will have an opportunity to see many new renovations, including five new basketball courts and a one-mile fitness trail. “There are a lot of exciting changes coming to O’Fallon Park,” says Alderman French. “These renovations are only part of a larger effort to revitalize the park into a safe space for members of the community to enjoy all that this city has to offer them.”
The Jazz Concert Series will continue to run each Wednesday at 6:00PM through August 25th. All concerts are free and open to the public. Concessions will be available at the O’Fallon Park Boathouse and attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair.
