Developer Paul McKee appeared on a radio show this morning promoting request for a $400M TIF. During the show radio show Demetrius Johnson, a McKee supporter, attacked Alderman Antonio French because of a quote that appeared in today’s paper questioning the impact to taxpayers. The City Charter says that an alderman can not also serve as a committee-man or -woman. The same goes for the mayor and the comptroller. And so as I prepare to take the oath of office today to officially become the new alderman of the 21st Ward, I have submitted my letter of resignation to the chairman of the City Democratic Committee.
