To slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus the Board of Aldermen are holding regular meetings by electronic Webinar. Each meeting will have an electronic link and phone number that can be used to view and/or listen to a meeting. Each meeting will also have a Meeting ID Number that can be used if requested while you are accessing the meeting.

Public Hearing
The Committee will take Public Comment on the report given by Mr. Dale Glass, the City’s Commissioner of Corrections, pursuant to Ord. 71217 held Thursday, October 1, 2020.

This report relates to the City’s correctional facilities, operations and programming. This includes the closing of the Workhouse (MSI). Please see the below instructions on how to register to speak to the committee. This meeting may be viewed at the link below:

Public Hearing Procedures:
Those interested in making a comment about the Report to the Public Safety Committee from Mr. Dale Glass, the Commissioner of Corrections, should send an email expressing their interest to speak as well as their name, street address, email contact address and a note that they wish to speak about report from Commissioner Glass to the Board of Aldermen Clerk – Mr. Terry Kennedy at: kennedyt@stlouis-mo.gov.

Persons may also call 314 589-6845 and leave a message with the above information. Those who do not have an email address or wish to call into the meeting by phone to speak, should call the phone number above and express their interest to speak as well as leave their name, address, phone number and that they wish to speak about the report listed above.

Those responding by email will receive an email confirmation and then later a link that will allow them to join the meeting as a speaker. Procedures will also be sent to you. Those calling in will receive a return phone call with this information.

All requests to speak must be made by 8am Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Speakers will be called to speak in accordance to the Rules of the Board of Aldermen which can be found on the Board of Aldermen Website. The link is below:

Discussion
Item Number 1

The Committee will have a discussion with City Budget Director, Paul Payne, about the fiscal impact of closing the Workhouse.

Item Number 2

Public comment will be taken on the report of Commissioner of Corrections, Mr. Dale Glass, on his recent update to the Public Safety Committee pursuant to Ord. 71217 that relates to the City’s correctional facilities and the Workhouse in particular.
